Search Engine Optimisation

Search Engine Optimisation, also referred to as SEO, is the process of improving the rankings of a website or its website pages in search engines via organic search results. ‘Organic’ is also referred to as ‘natural’, ‘unpaid’ or ‘algorithmic’ search results.

Successful SEO requires two fundamental building blocks. These are on-deck search engine optimisation, which includes tactics such as on-page optimisation and content optimisation, and off-deck search engine optimisation, which primarily refers to link building.

On-page Optimisation

On-page optimization is the process of creating a search engine friendly, well coded, content themed website page using techniques such as content writing and on-page tagging (title tags, header tags, etc).

On-page website optimisation is important for ‘showing’ the search engines what your web pages are about and which set of terms they need to rank your website for. Poor web page optimisation means your website leaks rankings to competitors that employ better on-page optimisation techniques.

Content Optimisation

Is the content of your website closely aligned with your SEO strategy? Does it help your users achieve their goals once they arrive at your website?

Your website's content is arguably one of the main influencers in your visitor's online behaviour. Yet very often it is overlooked and only included at the end of the web design process.

Your content needs to be aligned with your personas' expectations, and your conversion strategy.
